To further emphasize the importance of program standards, the DMC has created the DMC Partner Program to recognize those mentoring programs that meet or exceed the basic standards. By becoming registered as a Partner Program, your organization is establishing itself as one that is operating according to the safest and most effective methods.
Mentoring in Delaware has grown and matured over the past decade. We’ve learned a lot about what elements are needed to make an effective and successful mentoring program, whether it is in a school or community setting. The Basic Standards for Mentoring Programs was adopted by the Delaware Mentoring Council in 1998 and revised in 2003. Mentoring programs throughout Delaware have been encouraged to strive to meet these standards and the DMC has provided technical assistance and support to help them do so.
There are several benefits of being a DMC Partner Program, including:

Fill out the self-assessment checklist of the 10 Basic Standards and the registration form;
