Get Involved in Mentoring

Our organization is always looking for qualified, caring mentors that are ready to roll up their sleeves and assist young people. There are many options to get involved, and the amount of dedication involved makes it easier to become a part of a person's life when they need it the most. There have been many parts of being a portion of the Delaware Mentoring Committee from volunteering a few hours a week to helping with the organization itself. There are many skillsets that can be used to aid these youths, and we offer a chance to become a part of any of it.


So if you are thinking of helping out, consider if you could spare several hours per week to help where needed. You might be assigned to various locations to get involved with a student near your home. This is a chance to get to know a young person that you can connect with. There is often a bond created between a mentor and a mentee and a chance to help shape this person's life for the better in the long haul.

If you are ready, you will undergo some training and education to ensure that you are ready to make the most positive impact that you can. We would prefer if you could promise at least one year of your time. This allows us greater flexibility in scheduling help for those in need and also allows you to become closer to your mentee or mentees. This way you may be able to have the maximum effect in removing them from any current negative situation. Please consider becoming a member of our organization. We offer many different ways for you to help and will work to make such assistance possible. And just remember: the children count on your help and a chance for you to GET INVOLVED
