The Cathedral Choir School of Delaware has provided musical education to children and youth of Wilmington, Delaware, and the surrounding region since 1883. Choristers range in age from seven to eighteen, and spend at least seven hours per week in choral training, free piano lessons, performance and travel. A homework club is available after school to help students with school assignments and to enrich academic skills. Any student requesting a mentor is thoughtfully matched with someone who provides consistent weekly one-on-one quality time to build that child’s self-esteem, teach life and academic skills, and encourage the avoidance of negative behavior. This program supports young people who are at risk, expects academic, social and performance excellence, and gives hope for the future.
