CHARTER OF THE BUSINESS MENTORING ALLIANCE

CONTINUED

Goals and Functions

  • Complete a survey of current business mentoring programs each year to offer guidance for recruitment of new mentors or to offer assistance in revitalizing their programs. Findings will be sent to the DMC Office for follow up.
  • Members will either host or recruit businesses to host a breakfast or lunch to promote mentoring within the business community. A goal of 10 business events per year shall be set. Please see attached outline of responsibilities associated with these events.
  • Assist the DMC Office in support of two recognition events each year, one to recognize businesses and one to recognize business mentoring coordinators. Traditionally, these events occur in January during National Mentoring Month and June or July at the end of the school year.
  • BMA members offer their guidance and expertise gleaned from business relationships and experiences to help identify financial and human resources to promote mentoring.
  • The BMA may from time to time establish chapters throughout the state as needed. Each chapter with have their chairperson attend the monthly BMA meetings. Those chapters will report into the BMA, which in turn will report to the DMC.
  • All BMA members will be asked to participate in the ongoing development and modification to a strategic plan.
